Omega 3 – why for you?

For proper functioning and health human body needs a number of elements. As the missing of these essential elements creates many disorders in the body, it is very essential to take all these necessary elements through balance diet and if body demand more than that present in the food elements we should take supplements after the advice of our doctor. Not only nutrients, in the form of minerals, vitamins and salts are required for body functioning but it also demands a numbers of fatty acids for proper functioning. Nature has gifted us with the mechanism of self generation of most of the elements in the human body but still there are some essential elements that human body cannot produce on its own.  Therefore we should take these nutrients either through food or through nutritional supplements. Among these various types of elements there are some fatty acids that necessary for human health but are not produced in the body rather we have to take them through food and if our diet is not able to fulfill the requirements, we should take them through the nutritional supplement. These fatty acids are called good fats, as its name indicates they are good for the body health rather than hazardous o our health.
One of the most essential polyunsaturated fatty acids that are essential type of fatty acid is Omega 3. Among the two families of the essential fatty acids omega 3 is the one while other one is known as omega. These two families are jointly known as vitamin F. Omega 3 is an important source of energy for our body and are also helpful in the growth of cellular membranes. It is derived from alpha linolenic acid (ALA) which is also known as the parent of this family. Eicosapentaenoic acids (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acids (DHA) are the most effective omega 3 fatty acids.  Human body is can transform ALA to EPA and DHA, but most animals like fish can convert less ALA into more EPA and DHA. That’s why we are recommended to take oil-rich fish in our diet at least twice a week, every week.
To keeps the blood pressure within right tolerance, it is very essential to maintain the correct level of the right cholesterol in your body. It is also helpful in reducing the risk of stroke as the strokes generally occur due to the clotting of blood in the veins and omega 3 help in breaking that clotting. Its supports healthy heart, mental performance, eyes, cholesterol levels and joints. Your body keeps up with its functional ability if you maintain regular intake of a food that contain a good quantity of omega 3. That’s why we all should take an omega 3 supplement that’s your doctor suggests you.
